A beginner’s Guide to Treble Clef notes

Letter name and the order
Ahead of reading music notes, you should know about the letter name. It made of 7 musical alphabets:
ABCDEFG
However, A is not always the first letter to start reading. As the notation of middle C is remarkably easy to remember, it’s a lot easier for you to start reading from C.
And so, the new order is
CDEFGAB
Keep repeating this order as a cycle, C-D-E-F-G-A-B and apply it on reading music notes.
Middle C
C-D-E-F-G-A-B is highly favourable among piano teachers due to the C key besides the 2-black keys.
Regardless of what instrument you play, keyboard seems to be the best tool to start your music theory. Undoubtedly, middle C is playing a key role in theory lesson. So, don’t be surprised if your teacher starts your music lesson from Middle C, especially those are learning piano and keyboards.

You’ll deal with two types of notes.
- line note
- space note
Alternating the closest line note and space note will change the pitch step-by-step.
(ps.: middle C is a line note over the ledger line)
How to read notes
If you are a beginner, try to read the music notes step-by-step.
1. Get yourself clear with the order, CDEFGAB and remember it.
2. start from middle C.
3. Alternate the line note and space note in the order, CDEFGAB.
4. Repeat CDEFGAB as a cycle.
